Cain by James Byron Huggins

Hello Readers! I have finally finished reading the book Cain. It has taken me longer then I believed necessary, for a couple reasons. One being, that I generally didn't care for the book. And two being, how busy I've gotten writing my own stories. This book is recommended for mature readers only. It contains language, religious themes that may be seen as controversial, and  blood and gore. Basically if you like super human freaks, science, and global mayhem; then you'll like Cain.

About the book: Cain is about a group of scientist that were in the pursuit of creating a super solider. What they made was Cain. A monster that is half Vampire, half incredible hulk! Cain constantly needs blood in order to survive. What blood is purer than that of a child? Amy is the only one who can stabilize the Hymar virus inside of Cain. If he gets his hands on her, he will kill her and then he will be invincible. Cain is so fiendish, that if he is not caught and killed by the military he could destroy the entire world! However, Colonel James Solomon is not about to let that happen. Solomon is a man haunted by the death of his wife and daughter. In order to save Amy, Solomon must overcome his fears and his troubled past.

About the author: James Byron Huggins was born on January 1st, 1959. A veteran, a christian, and a journalist. Huggins devoted the majority of his life trying to help persecuted Christians from eastern Europe. After a long journalism career and an honorable discharge, James became a novelist. He wrote 10 outstanding novels, many of which were opted to become films.

Review: Okay, because this book was packed with both science and military jargon, it was difficult for me to fully understand. However, I got the basic concepts. Mostly I didn't like this book because of its characters. I didn't feel attached to any of them and personally didn't care how the story ended.  A real shame because the book sounded incredible! Essentially this was a boring read and for all those reasons, I gave this book a rating of 2 out of 5 stars. Amanda Sun, Ink

This is a fantastic book. It's the first book in the paper Gods series. This book is followed by Rain and has a prequel called Shadows. This book is recommended for young adults. I would recommend between the ages of 13 and up only because it contains language they may not be suitable for younger children.

About the book: This book is about a young girl named Katie Greene who after losing her mother. Travels to Japan in order to live with her aunt. At first she doesn't fit in and only has one friend named Yuki. But then she meets the very handsome Tomohiro Yuu. The two fall in love and soon Katie is exposed to a life filled with danger, secret cults, and the Yakuza; a very powerful organization bent on using the Kami or paper Gods to benefit their gang.

About the author:  Amanda Sun is a writer and a blogger. She lived as an high school exchange student in Japan. Her time and experiences there became her bases for writing the story. Amanda is a new author with only three books to her name. Her novels involve paranormal romance for young adults.

Review: I loved this book. I can easily say that this book is one of my absolute favorites. I fell completely in love with the characters and the surprising scenes. I was enthralled with the writing style, Amanda made everything easy to understand. The book was fast paced, exciting, and overall a fantastic read. I encourage everyone to read this book. The review: After reading this book I can say that it was very
entertaining. This book will grab you and won't let you go until the last
page. The books are fairly short being only 228 pages long for the first one, 672 pages for the entire first three novels. Out of 5 stars I gave this book a 4. Here's where you can purchase this book:

Welcome to Bookpalacereviews

Welcome to Book palace reviews. We review and recommend books to people. You can find me on Goodreads and Facebooks. I enjoy reading and writing as I am an aspiring writer. Hoping to be published real soon in the future. But this blog isn't about me, so anyway...hoping you will enjoy reading these reviews. I will try to keep this blog open and continually going.

Whether anyone will read it or not, because I enjoy telling people about books and sharing that experience with people. I'll try to have a link that you can follow after the end of each review so you can buy that book. I typically won't give away to much because you should read the book yourself. But this is a great way for you to get familiar with a book you might not read at all. Like I said hope this blog is helpful and joyful to read.

So that's a bit about me and about this blog. You can go to Youtube for more great book reviews. There are a lot of great, vibrant people who are enthusiastic about reading. So go check out their channels because they are awesome as well. (No, I'm not getting paid to say any of that.) So I'm going to shut up now and post the first review. Happy reading!!!
